What does branding workwear cost?

The method, how large the design is, how many colours it has, and how many garments you need. Those four decide almost the whole price, and they pull in different directions.

Embroidery

The logo is digitised once, and that cost is spread across the quantity. After that the price is driven by stitch count, not by volume.

A small chest mark and a large back mark are two different jobs on the same garment, and the price per garment is the same whether you order ten or two hundred.

Screen print

You pay per colour, because each colour needs its own frame. A one-colour logo is cheap to set up. A five-colour logo is not.

In return the price per garment drops quickly as volume grows. Above roughly fifty garments, screen print is usually the cheapest option on simple designs.

DTF

No setup, and the number of colours does not affect the price. That makes DTF the cheapest choice on small runs and on designs that would otherwise need many frames.

Price per garment is driven by size. A chest mark and a back print differ considerably.

Where the breaks fall

Under ten garments: DTF, nearly always.

Ten to fifty: embroidery if the logo is simple and the garment has to last, DTF if it is colourful.

Above fifty with few colours: screen print.

Above fifty with many colours or dark fabric: DTF.

Count the lifetime, not just the order

The cheapest method is not always the least expensive. Embroidery that lasts three years costs less per year than a print that has to be redone after one.

Washing decides it. If the garment goes through industrial laundry every week, embroidery and DTF are the only two worth considering.
