The significance of ships and boats has always been present in Bertil Vallien's life and work. As an imaginary space, he has journeyed through glass. He sails his boat and sees men fishing, and refugees fleeing for their lives. The boat resembles a seed pod, which can contain any form of life, and catches our attention. Bertil captures our curiosity and gives the sculpture a little time, making us participants in the unknown journey that life offers.
