Personal and cheeky! Just like some of her predecessors, such as Matisse and Picasso, Ulrica loved to draw and paint almost everything that came her way. These glass blocks were in fact leftovers and discarded glass from the glassworks. But in Ulrica's eyes, the glass pieces became exciting found objects that she wanted to decorate and make art from! Among collectors of her work, the colourfully painted blocks instantly became favourites. Now we have taken up the thread and, with the help of our most skilled decorative painters, have 'recreated' a new series in a smaller format in her memory. 'I paint the whole world' could have been the motto for Ulrica's entire output, and we at Kosta Boda feel that the glass blocks are among the most personal things we have been entrusted to look after from her. I Paint the Whole World, 2023, is produced in a signed edition of 300 pieces.
