The Bather was inspired by one of Kjell Engman's trips to the USA, where he was captivated by a performance in a church he visited, with women in a gospel choir singing and dancing. He has since captured that memory in various ways, with women in glass. The sculpture from Kosta Boda's Art Collection is formed at Kosta Glasbruk and then hand-painted.
