The Sparkling Devil Champagne 19 cl, green. H 230 mm, Ø 69 mm. Design giant and glass designer Gunnar Cyrén produced the schnapps devils in connection with the launch of the new Nobel service in 1991. Despite its ties to Swedish traditions, the Nobel Foundation did not want to serve spirits at the Nobel banquet, so these quirky devils were not included in the service. Instead, the glasses became popular collectors' items among the Swedish people. After Gunnar's death in 2013, his sons found a large number of sketches, and these form the basis of the Sparkling Devils. The Sparkling Devils are a new series of champagne glasses for truly festive occasions. The first out were a pair that complement each other: her and him, Yin and Yang. Over the coming years, three other family members will be released before the series is complete. The new glasses have the same colourful and characteristic look as the popular shot glasses and are a real eye-catcher. They are also based on the same glassmaking craft: each glass is mouth-blown in Kosta and hand-painted with 22 carat genuine gold. The Sparkling Devils are a tribute to Gunnar Cyrén's unique heritage and expression, but also an opportunity to spread the splendour of craft glass to new generations and collectors.
